Tri-County Electric is excited to announce that Dalton Smith has been selected to serve as Interim General Manager to lead Tri-County until a permanent successor has been named. Dalton is currently the Operations Manager and has a broad knowledge of our industry that will benefit the employees and members as our current General Manager/CEO, Mike Scheib, transitions to become the CEO of North Central Electric Cooperative.

Smith graduated Kirksville High School and received an Associate’s Degree of Powerline Technology from Northwest Iowa. He then went on to earn a Bachelors of Applied Science in Management from Northwest University in Maryville.  He worked for an electrical contractor for four years before starting at Tri-County Electric in 2015. Smith served as a lineman before accepting the position as Manager of Operations in 2023.

Scheib stated, “Dalton will do an excellent job as Interim General Manager. While this role is temporary, I am confident in his ability to lead both our staff and our members until a permanent successor is selected.”
